I decided with this online store I wanted a very different look to the previous JATOE online store and I also wanted to differentiate it from our Bricks and Mortar Store. JATOE Bricks and Mortar's theme colour is purple. It's logo is a tree with a Celtic print for the trunk. I really love that logo and it remains in our little store in Burrum Street, Burrum Heads, Queensland.
For JATOE Online Mark II I wanted the colour scheme to be black and white with an accent of red. I had a very particular style I wanted and it took four weeks of going back to the graphic artist to get revisions done until I was happy. The graphic artist did a fantastic job and the great thing was I could do it all online while I was recovering from my Golden Staph Septicemia. I don't recommend you getting Golden Staph; it's absolutely awful and it takes forever to get over.
I wanted "model" sketches of five different girls. The first one I wanted a representation of Retro and the 1940's. I have to credit Collectif UK as two of their items we sell in the store were part of the inspiration for that sketch.
So this is Retro girl!
I love Pin Up and I love Rockabilly. When I was young, my mother made me full skirts. I just thought they were the bee's knees! I loved them and I always wanted a poodle skirt. I've yet to find a supplier that has them, but as soon as I find one, and the quality is good enough, I will stock them.
This is my High School Rockabilly Girl
As I said, I love Pin Up and I wanted something very classy and after a couple of revisions the graphic artist had it right. I did not know you could get a white heart handbag until I did an order with Banned, AFTER the sketch was complete. So I will give Banned credit for the handbag.
I love the 1960's and this is a range we are going to expand. My mother was very excited when I told her I was putting in 1960's clothing as that was her era when she was a teenager. This sketch took so long to do. I am terribly pedantic and near enough is not good enough. When I got the final sketch, I was ecstatic!
I adore Alternative clothing and my absolute favourite is Steampunk. We will be expanding that line as we go along. This sketch took forever as I kept asking for revisions until I would be satisfied and happy. When the final image was sent to me I squealed with delight. The graphic artist just did the most fabalous job!
It's Fabalous Darlings!
I then wanted all of the girls to be put together, with our slogan, "It's Fabalous Darlings" and JATOE on it.
Then we created a logo with the girls in a mirror image with "It's Fabalous Darlings" and JATOE in the middle.
We have so many types of sketches and we can do so many things with them. If you are persistent and you settle only with the best, you can get things that even surpass what you expected. That's what happened with the Sketch Girls of JATOE and our new logo and slogan.
I would dearly love to create a JATOE tote bag using our lovely girls. They are divine!
